Overview

The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the United States manages the most operationally dense bilateral relationship handled by the Argentine Foreign Ministry. The United States is a strategic trade and investment partner, a counterpart in key multilateral fora (G20, IMF, OAS) and host to one of the most important Argentine communities abroad. The Argentine consular network in the US includes Consulates-General in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and Atlanta.

Visa Services

The Embassy and the Consulates-General process visa applications for US citizens travelling to Argentina — tourism, business, residence and other categories. Detailed requirements are published on the Embassy's portal.

Consular Services

The consular section of the Embassy — located in the Sarmiento Building at 1811 Q Street NW — handles passports, DNI national IDs, civil registration, notarial services and emergencies for Argentine citizens in the Washington area. Services by appointment.

Trade & Export Support

The Embassy's commercial office and the Foreign Ministry's commercial representation work on the promotion of bilateral trade, US investment in key Argentine sectors (energy, agroindustry, mining, technology) and integration with the multilateral trade system.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The Embassy supports academic exchanges, the Argentine-US Fulbright programme, Argentine cultural presence abroad (literature, tango, gastronomy) and the network of Argentine community organisations in the United States.
