Overview

The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bern — physically located in Muri bei Bern on the outskirts of the Swiss capital — is the diplomatic mission to the Swiss Confederation. Switzerland hosts a significant Bosnian diaspora community estimated at around 50,000 people, many of whom arrived during and after the 1990s conflict. The embassy provides the full range of consular services and manages bilateral relations covering trade, development cooperation and cultural exchange. Switzerland has been an active partner in Bosnia-Herzegovina's post-war reconstruction and EU integration process.

Visa Services

Swiss citizens and most EU nationals can enter Bosnia-Herzegovina visa-free for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Holders of valid multiple-entry Schengen visas may also enter for up to 7 days. For longer stays, work or study, contact the consular section for visa requirements.

Consular Services

The embassy provides passport and ID card services, civil registration (births, marriages, deaths), document legalisation, notarial services and consular protection for Bosnian nationals in Switzerland. Appointments are mandatory.
