Chilean Consulate General in Chengdu

Consulate of Chile in Chengdu, China

Overview

The Consulate General of Chile in Chengdu covers western China — Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan and Tibet. Chengdu is one of China's fastest-growing megacities and the economic hub of western China, with a rapidly expanding consumer market. For Chile the post is strategically important: Sichuan's population exceeds 80 million, its food culture is among China's most sophisticated, and Chilean cherries, wine and salmon have found strong demand in the region's premium retail and hospitality channels. The consulate is one of Chile's newest posts in China, reflecting the growing commercial importance of inland Chinese markets.
