Guyana Embassy in Brussels

Embassy of Guyana in Brussels, Belgium

Overview

The Embassy of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana in Brussels serves as Guyana's diplomatic representation to Belgium and the European Union. As the only Guyanese mission in continental Europe, the Brussels embassy is also the point of contact for Guyanese nationals and European residents across the continent — there are no Guyana missions in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, or Switzerland. Guyana, an English-speaking Caribbean/South American nation and CARICOM member, has seen growing international interest following major offshore oil discoveries. The EU is an important development and trade partner, particularly through the EU-CARIFORUM Economic Partnership Agreement.

Service Area

The embassy serves Belgium directly and is the reference point for Guyanese consular matters across continental Europe, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. For UK-based residents, the Guyana High Commission in London is the competent mission.
