Mexican Embassy in Beijing

Embassy of Mexico in Beijing, China

Overview

The Embassy of Mexico in Beijing manages one of Latin America's most consequential bilateral relationships with China. China is Mexico's second-largest trading partner and a major source of imports — electronics, machinery, textiles and auto components flow into Mexican manufacturing supply chains, while Mexico exports minerals, agricultural products, petroleum, tequila and beer to China. The embassy provides consular protection to Mexican nationals, visa and documentation services, and promotes cultural, educational and commercial exchange. Consulates general in Shanghai and Guangzhou extend coverage across eastern and southern China.

Visa Services

The embassy processes visa applications for Chinese citizens travelling to Mexico. Mexican visa categories include tourist, business, temporary resident and student visas. The embassy website provides current requirements and appointment scheduling.

Consular Services

The embassy provides consular protection, passport services, civil registration, document legalisation and emergency assistance to Mexican nationals in China. Emergency consular line: +86 138 1140 5429.

Trade & Export Support

Mexico-China trade is among the largest bilateral flows in the world. The embassy's commercial section promotes Mexican exports — particularly agricultural products (avocados, berries, tequila, beer), minerals and petroleum — and supports Mexican businesses navigating the Chinese market. The embassy also works to attract Chinese investment into Mexico's manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.

Cultural & Educational Programs

The embassy promotes Mexican culture in China through art exhibitions, film festivals, gastronomy events (Día de Muertos celebrations have become a major cultural event in Beijing) and academic exchange programmes. Mexican universities maintain partnerships with Chinese institutions, and scholarship programmes support student mobility in both directions.

Service Area

The embassy covers all of China except jurisdictions of consulates general in Shanghai (Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang) and Guangzhou (southern China).
